Shawna

I live in Keedysville, MD with my husband and our three boys. We are blessed to share our lives with our Silken Windhound dog, two Ragdoll cats, and two guinea pigs. I love working around animals and have done so in various ways – horse farms, animal hospitals, groomers and pet sitting. I’ve always loved being a spectator to animal activities and have attended many confirmation dog shows, agility and obedience trials, lure coursing and dock diving. A few years ago, I began Noseworks lessons with our dog Roxie and I just love it! And the reason I love it so much is that SHE loves it so much. I believe an active and working dog is a happy dog. I look forward to meeting your critters and helping you give them their best life.

Karen

My love for animals began at an early age. I wanted to be a zookeeper and work with lions. Instead, I turned to domestic animals and have been in some capacity for over 40 years!
For the past 5 years, I have been employed as an internal medicine vet tech assistant. Every day is a new adventure! I share a home with two cats and 2 dogs, along with a loving husband.

Chris

I’m an avid animal lover and I would do anything to ensure that your pet is safe and taken care of! Your animal’s care is just as important to me as my own fur babies. 🙂

Ever since I was a young child, I’ve always been an avid animal lover and caretaker. From dogs to cats, to hamsters, fish, and reptiles, I’ve had exposure to a plethora of different animal species and am very experienced with taking care of them. Aside from my animal endeavors, I also love helping people and gained valuable customer service skills working as a host at Cracker Barrel for the past 2 years. I recently graduated high school, and am planning on going off to college to pursue my interest in veterinary medicine. It has always been a dream of mine to have a job where I am able to work with animals each and every day. Everyone has their individual passions, and I have found solace in taking care of animals and learning more about them in the process. Currently, I own and care for two dogs, a turtle, and a bearded dragon. First, there is my little old man Luigi, a 12-year-old chihuahua-terrier mix who has grown up alongside me and is very special to me. My other dog is a 3-year-old pitbull named Memphis, who is a very sassy girl that is full of personality and helps keep me on my toes. I’ve had my red-eared slider Squirt since I was 5, and he is my oldest and will most likely outlive them all funnily enough! Finally, I recently adopted a bearded dragon named Spyro, who has allowed me to get more comfortable in dealing with more exotic reptiles. I can’t imagine a life where I didn’t have my amazing fur (and scaled) babies, as they mean more to me than words can express. My mission in life is to help each and every animal that I encounter, both professionally and in my own personal life. An ambition of mine is to one day open up my own veterinary clinic!

Debbie B.

I retired from the Maryland Judiciary after 31 years approximately two years ago. My husband and I moved to Hagerstown 14 years ago and we share our home with two rescue pups: Skipper and Becca. Growing up, we were not allowed to have pets so the first thing I did when I moved out on my own was to get a Pug puppy! From then on, I knew I would never be without a furry companion, and have had dogs ever since! My philosophy is pets are family so it is vitally important that anyone entrusted to their care be able to ensure their safety, show them love and have some fun! I know firsthand the impact of leaving a beloved pet for work or vacation and therefore understand the importance of a quality, reliable, caring pet care service. I look forward to serving you and your pets!

Charlotte

Hi, my name is Charlotte. I am originally from the D.C area but currently live in Boonsboro MD. I settled in the area after getting a degree in Social Work from Shepherd College, now University. I worked in that field for several years but then changed career paths to selling Real Estate, which I still do now. I have always been an animal lover! I have owned a dog ever since my parents had allowed and have had them ever since. I have dabbled in breeding, have taken several dogs to obedience trainings and agility, and now just enjoy throwing ball and frisbee in the yard and taking them on nice walks. In my spare time I pretty much enjoy anything outdoors like camping, fishing boating and I also am a pretty decent swimmer. I like staying on the go and feel that I have time in my schedule to help out with other folks pets part time. As a homeowner and pet owner, I know how important it is to have someone
reliable, trustworthy and will treat your pets as you do. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Allyson

Hi! My name is Allyson. My love for animals was inherent from a very young age, from never wanting to say goodbye to my aunt’s dogs after a family visit, to wanting to catch and keep the little mice in their house that they were trying to get rid of! All animals deserve to be respected and protected, including wild ones!
I believe our pets offer us the purest form of love and companionship, and because of this, they deserve to be pampered and spoiled. To me, this means ensuring that they always feel safe, comfortable, stimulated (mentally and physically), and well-loved. I treat every animal I encounter with this philosophy, regardless of how long I’ve known them or who their owner is. I know how hard it can be to have to leave a pet alone. It can be very anxiety-inducing, for you and for them! But I feel very lucky to be someone who pet owners can trust to take excellent care of them when you have to be apart. I am looking forward to meeting you and your beloved companions!

Jenna L.

Hello! My name is Jenna Linde.

My love for animals started at a very young age visiting my grand-parents farm and my love for animals has grown into adulthood even more. I have a passion for learning and understanding all different types of animals. I have been lucky enough to have all sorts of pets while growing up.

In my spare time, I do a lot of hiking and waterfall chasing with my dog Diesel, whom is a Staffordshire Terrier – he brings such fun to these hikes!

I know that animals are an important part of the family, and I also know it is such a relief knowing your pet(s) are safe, healthy, and happy while away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends!

Michelle

Hi, my name is Michelle. I come from a family who has traveled and lived in many different places around the country, but no matter where we lived we always found a way to be around animals. Growing up my parents instilled in me a love and passion for taking care of the environment, which included animals both wild and domesticated. Because my father was a biologist, my sister and I were used to being around animals from an early age; from babysitting tarantulas and snakes during winter breaks to helping tag ponies on Assateague Island. Growing up we also had pets of our own: hamsters, gerbils, dogs, and even the occasional injured squirrel we found outside. As the years went by I continued to have dogs (and now a cat) of my own.

I eventually settled in Washington County where I have been a classroom teacher for the past 30+ years and am getting ready to retire. Since I like to stay busy and love the active lifestyle that comes along with a dog walking career, working at Platinum Paws seemed like the perfect fit. Being a pet owner myself, I understand how important animals are to families. They are not just pets, but members of the family. I look forward to meeting you and making sure that your pets are safe and taken care of.
